- Open Chrome's PREFERENCES / SETTINGS
- Click on SHOW ADVANCED SETTINGS
- Look for WEB CONTENT => CUSTOMIZE FONTS
- You will see the SANS SERIF selected and in my case it was obviously the corrupted font
- Switch to another font like Helvetica Neue
